Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, the high desert home of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, is where the Navy and Marine Corps have developed or tested nearly every significant airborne weapon system in the past five decades.

Officially Recognized Facilities and Activities

China lake is home to a navy-operated Radar Cross-Section facility, among other things. The purpose of these facilities is to test the reflection of radar waves on aircraft or airborne weapons to evaluate their "stealth" qualities.


Underground Base?

China like has been claimed to house a multi-leveled underground base, connected via tunnel systems to Edwards Airforce Base and Area 51.


Location and Accessibility

China Lake is located 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles on the western edge of California's Mojave Desert. Outside the China Lake gate is the city of Ridgecrest.
