The Cyclops was known as the giant of Greek mythology. They are also refered to as Cyclopes. The Cyclops were described as gigantic versions of human beings. But with the difference of having one large eye in the middle of their head.

History

Two generations are mentioned in greek mythology.

The first being Argos (Thunderbolt), Steropes (Lightning), and Brontes (Thunder). They were the sons of Uranus and Gaia. Their most prominent traits were their size, strength and a single eye in the center of their head. Known as the blacksmiths to the Gods they played only minor roles until they were slain by Apollo.

The second generation of Cyclops were the children of Poseidon, spoken of in Homer’s Odyssey. A lawless band of shephards that roamed the island of Sicily, they had lost the ability to work metal and were known for their fondness for the taste of human flesh.
