The Dropa stones, or perhaps more accurately the Dropa discs were discovered in 1938 in the Baian Kara Ula Mountains, a section of the Himilays. A team of archaeologists were exploring a series of caves along the border between Tibet and China. The team, led by Dr. Chi Pu Tei, came across a most remarkable find.

Findings

The researchers were exploring caves when they came across one strange cavern. Inside there were dozens of graves. Upon exhuming the bodies, the corpses were found to be very small in stature, with long, spindly limbs. Also the heads of the bodies were large. Also in the cave were 716 stone discs. The discs were round, with perfectly round holes bored out in the center of each. A long line was found carved into each stone, spiraling from the center outward.
