Flying Rods are a phenomenon that has presented itself with the dawn of the age of digital photography. There are two schools of thought on what they might be. On one side are skeptics, who claim that the "creatures" are nothing more than bugs that have been photographed a bit out of focus, and perhaps a little over exposed. On the other side are those who feel that flying rods are a new, as of yet undiscovered species of creature, or perhaps even the best evidence of alien beings on Earth that has been presented to date.

Description

Flying rods have only been seen on film. They have long torsos, and what appear to be wings on each side of their appendage. They seem to fly straight, but will dodge objects in their flight path, indicating at least rudimentary intelligence. The rods bodies do bend sometimes, and when viewed in slow motion they appear to fly with an undulating, wave-like motion. They were first noticed by Jose Escamilla while he was filming people jumping into a cave in New Mexico, in 1994.

Theories

There are many theories on what flying rods may be. One theory is that flying rods, or sky fish as they are sometimes called, are alien beings visiting our planet. This is because they appear to be so unlike anything that we are used to have seen. Some people say they are artificial constructs that are here to observe human beings. None of these opinions have anything grounded in reality to backup any of those statements. The most widely held notion is that these creatures are nothing more than bugs. Bugs that are filmed slightly out of focus. The reason that they are filmed the way they are has to do with the exposure of the camera. A slightly longer exposure creates the illusion of a creature several inches to several feet long.

Both of these theories, the bug one and the real creature one are hotly contested by both sides of the argument.
