Iraqi Interior Ministry

The Interior Ministry of Iraq is a governmental department that is primarily filled by Shi'ites, and has been implicated in militia-like activities. Specific allegations have been made that the Badr Brigade, a Shia non-governmental paramiliatary group, has infiltrated the organization. The group is thought to act as a Death Squad. The ministry handles boarder control, policing and enforcing. At this present time it consists of several groups who are the Iraq Police Service, Iraqi Highway Patrol, Traffic Department, Emergency Response Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, and the Department of Border Enforcement.
