Maxwell refers to himself as simply "an ordinary man pursuing extraordinary knowledge". He believes that all religions are not only parallel but hold origins based on Sun worship and ancient astrology.

One of Maxwell's areas of expertise is the occult. The term occult has been popularly conceived as a name given to the practice of magic and sorcery and attributed to those who follow teachings of the paranormal. As Maxwell points out, the term occult in Latin means hidden and that occultists propagate hidden or secret knowledge.

Maxwell's research points to a secret society which controls world government, major religious institutions and also involving organized crime. His work has spawned heavy interest on the origins of religion and its influence on western society.
