Jump Drive is another theoretical form of FTL travel.Jump Drive varies from Warp or Hyperdrives as the transition from one point in space to another is instantaneous.Quantum Entanglement is the leading theory that gives credibility to this type of propulsion system.Quantum Entanglement states that all particles in the Universe 'communicate' with each-other instantly,apparently violating the Theory of Relativity!Further more it appears that no matter the distance the 'information' is transmitted instantaniously,this is called Quantum Teleportation,which Albert Einstein referred to as "Spooky from a distance".It appears that the Heisenberg uncertainty principle ,which states that a particle in a small region of space can not be observed because the action of observing it changes its location plays a part of this entanglement in such that a action on one particle has a direct and negative action on another corresponding particle somewhere in space.Current theory states that even so that it is still not possible to transmit information FTL because you need a 'conventional'(Relativistic) system to complete the information transfer.Some theorize that it is possible to 'simplify' the information(ie;craft,person)to allow instant information transfer,but with current understandings of physics we are hundreds of years and a few major breakthroughs away from achieving this.Obviously it could be possible that a civilization hundreds of years more advanced than us could achieve this,and possibly even current governments(from reversed engineered technologies).A 'Jump Drive' is the fictional propulsion system in the hit sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica and in the movie A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
