Levitation is hovering in the air. This is a topic related to both the paranormal field and to the field of technology. Telekinesis is supposedly the ability to move objects only with the force of the mind, that is, without touching the objects in any physical way. The Bible is said to tell about people who float in the air. Stage magicians will not uncommonly have some trick where they apparently levitate an object or a person in the air. As for technology, it is believed by some ufologists that ETVs use some kind of anti-gravity propulsion system. Scientists have discovered a way of levitating ultra small objects by manipulating the so-called Casimir force, which normally causes objects to stick together by quantum force. This abilty is not unknown, in the classic game air hockey a small disc is levitated by a large amount of upward thrust being caused by jets in the table which push up against the disc. A sphere can be stably levitated in a stream of air without any type of control system, if conditions are right.
