Lone gunman

Lone Gunman is the term in political circles for the assumed one person to have done some horrific crime, and is often attributed to be only done by the one person. It is a misnomer in that the "lone gunman" acted alone in that conspiracy theorist never believe the official story because logistically speaking it is impossible due to the level of security present at the event location.

The lone gunman is generally known in conspiracy theory circles as the "patsy" even though unproven because of a lack of facts, being a fallguy, or the person set-up as the person to have been proven as guilty of a crime. This is because the assummed "lone gunman" has never been connected to his or her co-conspirators because of a lack of evidence or connectivity through association.

This euphamism has been often associated with assassinations, often Presidential assassinations, or politically motivated assassinations. All lone gunman are generally known after the event, usually a horrendous crime, by their first, middle, and last name. In conspiracy theory circles this is one of the first signs that it was an inside job attributed to the shadow government because the person who was assassinated was seen as a threat to the system.

The lone gunman is also often made into an analogy during horror movies and documentary style movies in order to bring more dramatic effect to the movie giving it more credibility. In some conspiracy theory circles a "double" or doppelganger is often associated in timing of the lone gunman's appearance due to the unseen co-conspirators attempting to make the lone gunman seen in many places so the facts of the story are mixed up on purpose to keep the true story from ever being figured out.
