National Investigations Committee On Aerial Phenomena

The National Investigative Committee on Aerial Phenomenon aka NICAP was a Unidentified Flying Object research group of theorists and witnesses in the Untied States from 1950 to 1980. NICAP was a non profit group, this means it made no money at all, yet some how they were nearly dissolved many times due to financial problems. The members were expected to help the financial side of the group thought, so in the 1960's when there membership was at their highest they were on steady financial ground. The National Investigative Committee on Aerial Phenomenon were considered one of the most respected UFO groups on the planet and did some thing that not many others had, it manged to be recognized by the mainstream media, it was not mocked but listened too. NICAP's respectability and credibility kept growing because of the constant stream of military and government officials joining its ranks.

Obviously a UFO research groups was bout to attract some of the tinfoil hat people, these people were welcomed and it was hoped that they would calm down and start being more scientific whilst in NICAPs ranks. At When NICAP and APRO were active they were considered the two greatest civilian UFO groups of there time. NICAP was refrened in the cult TV show the X-files.
