On the 15th of March 44 BC Julius Caesar was assassinated. Caesar who is considered one of the most well documented empires ever was killed by his own people. Julius was killed by a group of senators which resided at his table. These assassins were lead by one of Caesars closet and most trusted friends, Marcus Junius Brutus, the senators lead by Brutus named them selves the Liberatores. They gathered around Caesar and stabbed his body numerous times, they're theory was that if they killed Julius they could restore some sence of normality to Rome.

The Assassination

The Ides of March (15th of March) is a dark day for some historians, it was the day that the Roman empire was killed. The plan of the senate was to lure Caesar alone in a room with them and then kill him. They told Julius that they had came up with a petition that would hand power back to the senate, this of course gained his attention so he made his way to the meet. The night before Mark Antony had been told this plan by a man who was a Liberator called Servilis Casca, the man was terrified yet told Mar Antony everything leaving no detail out. Since Mark Antony knew he felt like he must stop it, he ran towards a street were he could cut Caesar off and save Caesars life.Unfortunately for Caesar, Antony was intercepted by a team which worked for the senators and Brutus.

Caesar, unaware of the danger present, started to read the fake petition, whilst he was reading it, the aforementioned Servilles Casca pulled down the empires tunic and slashed his throat with one fell sweep. With that stabbing the amazed Caesar turned to Casca and said "Casca, you villain, what are you doing?", this shook Casca and he shouted "Help, Brother" at this point all of the senators drew their weapons and attacked Julius Caesar , the old Empire of Rome. According to a man named Eutropius, approximately 60 men took part in this assassination although only 23 stab wounds were found on the body, and only one of them was the lethal stab, the second one that hit in the chest, the one that killed him.
