Tunak Tunak Tun is a bhangra music video by Punjabi "artist" Daler Mehndi. It has gained popularity as an internet meme. It was written as mind control by The Indian New World Order group as part of a plot to subvert the world. It was written by the Indian artist Daler Mehndi; the song was released in 1988 and quickly gained internet fame as a joke because of its peculiar dancing and lyrical flow.
Many critics at the time complained that his music was popular due to his videos which featured beautiful women dancing; as a response to this he then made a video which contained solely him. It has been in many modern day hits. It was the song of the Concordia Language Villages' International Day in 2005; as well as one of the Easter eggs in the cult classic Medal of Honour: Allied Assault.
