Orphaned Pages

I found out what they are!!!! Orphaned wiki pages are pages that have no links to them in other pages. In other words, they are stand-alone pages that have no links to them anywhere else in the wiki. Just wanted to let you know....

Title capitalization

Apparently there was a discussion about title capitalization that I didn't partipate in. Anyway, I dispute the idea of capitalizing titles just because they are titles. I also dispute the idea that capped titles look better. Capping of titles is not only NOT a common practice, it creates confusion as to the subject of the article. In my view, it does not look better either. Titles are not intrisically "names". Titles are never capitalized in instances that are not normal within the body of the document. For example, Internal Revenue Service is a proper name and will always be capped regardless to the context. But A review of the international affairs regarding United States flower exportation is not a name. It is a concept. As such, capping it would be confusing as to what is proper name and what is not. Is "International Affairs Regarding United States Flower Exportation" an agency name, or is it just "United States Flower Exportation" or "United States"? Then there's the issue of how to state this concept in the text of the article itself. Do you then cap the station within the text of the article too so that it matches the title, even though it doesn't make any sense within a sentence structure? Very confusing. Also, do you cap of and the? Anyway, this policy (if it is such) needs to be re-evaulated. Palzeta (How's That?, That's How!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) 14:38, 4 December 2008 (CST)

We did not propose ALL CAPS of the title or capitilazation of words such as "and", "the", "of", etc. But, the people who commented on ATS wondered why there was even a question about it. I mean, "Cattle Mutilations" looks better as the title of an article than "Cattle mutilations"....or at least it does to most people. Book titles are capitalized, newspaper article titles are capitalized, magizine articles are capitalized....it is the heading of the page; it should look important. In all honesty, and in my opinion, if a title to an article isn't capitalized, it looks sloppy and lazy. I just want this wiki to look as good, as professional as possible, and in my mind, non-capitalized titles just take something away from how this wiki, or any other (for that matter) looks. --Skeptic1 15:29, 4 December 2008 (CST)
I agree with Skeptic1 in this matter. I think the capatilization of the title makes the page look better. I also agree with the points Skeptic1 made regarding usage of words such as "or", "the" and "and". I see the points Palzeta has brought up, but I don't think that capatalizing in the title is a great deal. I also know that wikipedia does not do this, but this is our wiki and we can do this if we want. William One Sac 20:47, 4 December 2008 (CST)
Duly noted with comment: As to Skeptic's final comments, they are actually wrong regarding articles having cappad titles. I have found just one example of a rag that does this (from scientific to pop culture); Rolling Stone does, but for them it is a style choice to stand out. Besides that, none of their articles are encyclopedic. Newspapers cap every letter for headlines, not just the first word letter. This is were some of the confusion comes from. Full capping is a common practice, not capping only the first letter each significant word. This is actually a very unusual practice, and is not professional. As long as we are clear about this fact, I'll drop the issue. Palzeta (How's That?, That's How!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) 14:24, 7 December 2008 (CST)

Also, see Current events. I suspect now that I pointed this inconsistency out, we will be retitling it?  :) Palzeta (How's That?, That's How!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) 14:28, 7 December 2008 (CST)

Link: Faults with the James Randi Challenge...

I don't want to edit myself as I'm not sure if it needs deleting or redirecting!

Plus, can you unlock the article: 2020 Neural Chip Implant so I can update/replace the picture please.

Created Otheruses and diaambiguation templates

WOS, I've created template:Otheruses, template:Otheruses1, and template:Disambig templates in order to suppport disambiguation of identical terms. I created these based on older code from previous versions of similar templates on Wikipedia.org. (The newer code on Wikipedia.org doesn't appear to be supported by the version of metawiki that tinWiki.orG is running.) The first example of these tags in use are on 911 and 911 (disambiguation). tried fixing current events...

WOS, I tried fixing current events, but this wiki doesn't work the same as what I'm used to on the current wikipedia for multiple rollbacks. sorry. Anyway, looks like I have to leave it up to you since I cannot seem to find the way to directly edit a particular version of the article. Palzeta (How's That?, That's How!)
